## Notes from 27 April 2025 [[2025-04-26|← Previous note]] ┃ [[2025-04-28|Next note →]] I heard today about "[Numérique en Commun[s]]" (https://numerique-en-communs.fr/), an annual event organised by the French National Agency for Territorial Cohesion. The next edition will be held in Strasbourg on 29 and 30 October 2025. The idea is to rethink digital transformation for local authorities, focusing on inclusion, public value and citizen empowerment. They are also producing resources such as podcasts and videos. I want to come back later and explore how they frame digital emancipation and what kind of practical tools they offer. I also found out about "[Le Lierre] (https://le-lierre.fr/)", a French collective of civil servants who are pushing for an ecological transition within the government. They have just published a guide called _[Les DRH au service de la Transition écologique](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/lelierre_retour-sur-notre%C3%A9v%C3%A9nement-de-lancement-activity-7318536423513427968-sGmz?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAABJfvIUBLMnEUSA-EbpMEBKTnb3K9do__SQ)"_, which tries to link HR practices with sustainability goals. I am curious to see how they frame the role of HR in this transition. Saved the guide to read later and better understand how they envision the transition from within the public administration. Oh, and today I also discovered that [[Nesta]] has changed its social investment agenda. They used to invest in early stage social ventures through [Nesta Impact Investments](https://www.nesta.org.uk/project/impact-investments/), but from 2025 they're moving away from that model. Instead, they're focusing on the [Nesta Mission Studio](https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/nesta-mission-studio/), which builds mission-driven startups from the ground up. I'm surprised, not just by the move itself, but also by how this new focus seems to align with the 'mission' approach that the new Labour government is trying to push. Definitely something to keep an eye on.
