Discovered this initiative through a recent paper published in [Sustainability Science](https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11625-025-01673-z) (April 2025), which explores how artists-in-residence can help make climate modeling practices more reflective. The author, [Lisette van Beek](https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7331206696297533442/), collaborated with two artists and an integrated assessment modeling (IAM) team to encourage deeper thinking about the assumptions and impacts behind these models. The result was a creative intervention (the Future Models Manual) which helped modelers question their role in shaping climate futures. The paper argues that involving artists can spark valuable reflection on ethics, politics, and imagination in climate science.
