It focuses on exploring accountability in the UN system, particularly how different stakeholder groups—member states, UN staff, and third-party observers—interact to shape oversight and performance. The initiative develops models and tools that frame accountability as a relational concept, and publishes analyses, proposals, and statements related to ongoing institutional reform processes. **[[2025-06-05]]**: [ReformWorks](https://www.reformworks.org/) is an independent research organization that provides analysis and change management support for international organizations. It produces studies on the performance of multilateral institutions, focusing on the interaction between managers and member states. Founded by Katja Hemmerich, it draws from both academic research and practical experience in the UN system. Its work addresses governance, oversight, risk management, and other internal processes that influence institutional reform in intergovernmental contexts. **[[2025-06-05]]**: The [Fair Internship Initiative](https://fairinternshipinitiative.wordpress.com/) (FII) is a global advocacy network focused on the conditions of internships within the UN system. It collects data on intern experiences, publishes reports and surveys, and engages in outreach to Permanent Missions in Geneva and New York. FII also organizes public events and media activities to raise awareness about accessibility and quality in UN internships. In collaboration with Intern Representatives, the initiative monitors cases related to abuse or harassment and maintains ongoing dialogue with institutional actors to promote policy change.
