# Green and Hidden Minds Exploring how plants and fungi perceive, decide, and respond. They adapt to their environment, communicate underground or through the air, and build networks of mutual support. --- ## Entries **[[2025-05-04]]**: I really enjoyed [reading this](https://www.asimov.press/p/plant-vision). I had already come across _Boquila trifoliolata_ in Stefano Mancuso’s _[Plant Revolution](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35721619-the-revolutionary-genius-of-plants)_, and ever since then I’ve been fascinated by discussions about non-human intelligence. This Chilean vine that mimics neighboring leaves (even plastic ones, apparently??) is one of the many curious examples out there. What I appreciated in this piece is that it revisits the phenomenon without jumping to conclusions: the idea of plant “vision” is explored seriously, and the article walks through both the appeal and the methodological flaws of recent experiments. For now, it remains a mystery.
